Guard Yourself Against The Cold And Flu Virus

When winter brings its colder temperatures, it also brings with it those unwanted cold and flu viruses.  So, what can you do to strengthen your body’s immune system from what your co-workers are attempting to share?  One thing that we have leaned on heavily and have gotten great results with is ON GUARD® oil blend by dōTERRA.

ON GUARD is their proprietary blend formulated to support healthy immune function.  The main component is Wild Orange essential oil, combined with Clove, Cinnamon, Eucalyptus, and Rosemary.

While there are numerous uses for the oil that can be found on the web, we prefer to put a couple of drops in our water and drink it throughout the day or use it in a diffuser at night.

Here is a deeper look into each of the ingredients, revealing why this oil works so well:

  • Wild Orange (Citrus sinensis) anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and antidepressant properties.

  • Clove (Eugenia caryophyllata) studies show that clove oil and eugenol could be employed as a natural antibacterial agent and augments the humoral immune response

  • Cinnamon (Cinnamomum zeylanicum) although typically used in food, cinnamon oil is known as one of the most antiseptic of the essential oils.  It also scores as a potent anti-oxidant on the ORAC listing

  • Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus radiata) strong anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties, as well as a natural immune booster

  • Rosemary (Rosemarinus officinalis) a great energizing oil to restore mental alertness and a strong antiseptic

With the amount of stress that is placed on our immune systems on a daily basis, it is important to take any opportunity to strengthen it.  This is an easy day-to-day, 3 second remedy used all over the world now at your fingertips!
